symbolises expansion, energy, summer, the south and the colour red

 Water

symbolises irregular shapes, serenity, winter, the north and the colour blue

 Wood   

symbolises growth, power, spring, the east and the colour green

 Metal

symbolises maturity, autumn, the west and the colour orange

 Earth

symbolises stability, safety, the centre and the colour yellow
