What is a salt lamp

A Salt lamp works in a very similar way to a man-made ioniser or air purifier.

It works by neutralising the positive ions and electromagnetic field frequencies.

Negative ions

When you turn the lamp on or light a tea-lite candle inside a salt lamp, the salt begins to warm up. Healthy negative ions lift off the surface of the salt. This helps improve the quality and freshness of the air we breathe. These negative ions are odourless, tasteless and invisible molecules, the same molecules as those found in environments such as mountains, waterfalls and beaches.

Negative ions produce bio chemical reactions that increase the levels of the mood chemical serotonin, helping to relieve stress, alleviate depression and boosting our energy levels.

Positive ions

Positive ions are omitted into the air through modern day life, technology and machines. Positive ions are produced by televisions, computers, microwaves, mobile phones etc.

Salt Lamps are recommended by Bioenergytherapists  and homeopaths who support the health beliefs that salt lamps are beneficial to those with allergies, respiratory diseases, weak blood systems and rheumatism to name but a few.

v At home the lamp can reduce stress related symptoms and improve relaxation.

v At the office a lamp can improve circulation and freshen the air around you.

v In a Smokey environment lamps can reduce tobacco odours
